On 21st May, Royal Air Force Coningsby commemorated the anniversary of the D-Day landings by unveiling a specially painted Typhoon jet. The jet (tail number ZK308) has been adorned with iconic black and white invasion markings in a tribute to the significant role of the Hawker Typhoon in WWII particularly during D-Day operations. Included in the unveiling ceremony was a flypast by the Tyhpoon along with a spitfire
