EDITORS COMMENTS
This aerial photograph captures the essence of Foxash Estate, a remarkable co-operative smallholding scheme in Ardleigh, Essex. Dating back to the 1930s, this Land Settlement Association initiative aimed to provide employment opportunities for the unemployed by encouraging them to cultivate smallholdings and profit from vegetable production. The neatly arranged fields and greenhouses are a testament to the dedication and passion of those who worked tirelessly on these lands.
