Men of the Royal Corps of Signals who provided the land communications required to

Men of the Royal Corps of Signals who provided the land communications required to co-ordinate the air offensive which made possible the Allied victory in Burma.
In units known as Air formation signal companies, British and Indian signalmen have laid the land lines which provide inter-communication between airstrips and the widely dispersed controlling units of the Air Force, now in Rangoon.
After two seasons of Burma warfare, , these men have little time to rest for the lull in
warfare provides badly needed breathing space to prepare for the stepping up of air
operations on further targets.
From Rangoon, men of the formation are laying the network which will form an integral part of the RAF organisation.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the brave men of the Royal Corps of Signals, whose unwavering dedication provided crucial land communications during World War II. These signalmen played a vital role in coordinating the air offensive that ultimately led to the Allied victory in Burma. Known as Air formation signal companies, British and Indian soldiers worked tirelessly to lay down land lines, connecting airstrips with widely dispersed controlling units of the Air Force in Rangoon. Despite enduring two grueling seasons of warfare in Burma, these courageous individuals had little time for rest. The temporary lull allowed them to prepare for upcoming air operations on new targets. From their base in Rangoon, these determined men continued their mission by establishing an extensive network that would become an integral part of RAF organization. Among them is Corporal G. Moran from 17 Lake Street, Liverpool, proudly displaying his form sigs flash. This photograph not only serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by soldiers during this tumultuous period but also highlights the importance of effective communication systems on the battlefield. It symbolizes unity and collaboration between different nations working towards a common goal. Preserved through Memory Lane Prints, this image stands as a testament to the bravery and resilience exhibited by these unsung heroes who played a pivotal role in shaping history during one of humanity's darkest times.
