Pictured are soldiers from C Sqn Household Cavalry Regiment and their Scimitar Vehicle driving into standing water during Exercise IRON SCOUT 3.

The Scimitar armoured fighting vehicles exceptionally low ground pressure and small size make it useful where the terrain is hostile and movement is difficult.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures soldiers from C Sqn Household Cavalry Regiment fearlessly driving their Scimitar Vehicle into standing water during Exercise IRON SCOUT 3 on Salisbury Plain. The Household Cavalry Regiment, an Armoured Cavalry regiment equipped with CVR (T) reconnaissance vehicles, plays a crucial role in providing forward reconnaissance for 1 (Armoured) Brigade, allowing them to project forward over large distances. The Scimitar armoured fighting vehicle showcased in the image possesses exceptional capabilities such as its low ground pressure and small size, making it highly effective in hostile terrains where movement is challenging. Equipped with a powerful 30mm Rarden cannon for self-defense, the Scimitar is primarily used by reconnaissance regiments of the Royal Armoured Corps and recce elements of the armoured infantry. In this photograph taken by Cpl Pete Brown from Armed Forces, we witness these brave soldiers navigating through difficult terrain while training. The picturesque landscape consisting of woods and water adds to the overall intensity of the scene. Their camouflage uniforms adorned with multi-terrain pattern (MTP), along with their helmets and headwear, further emphasize their readiness for action. This photo serves as a testament to the dedication and skill displayed by members of the Household Cavalry Regiment as they carry out vital operations in challenging environments.
