EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a breathtaking moment at a military pageant, where the power and precision of a battery of 105mm Light Artillery guns are on full display. Manned by the esteemed 103 Regiment (V) Royal Artillery, these versatile weapons unleash their might with an awe-inspiring fire. The British Army relies on the agility and adaptability of the 105mm light gun, which is primarily used by parachute and commando field artillery regiments. This remarkable weapon can be towed effortlessly by a medium-weight vehicle or carried swiftly across the battlefield underslung by a Chinook helicopter. What sets these Royal Artillery L118 light guns apart is their cutting-edge automatic pointing system (APS). With this innovative technology, they can be quickly deployed into action within just 30 seconds. The APS utilizes an inertial navigation system operated through a touch screen interface, effectively replacing traditional dial sights. As members of the reserves, or reservists, from 103 Regt (V) RA proudly showcase their skills during this military spectacle, we witness not only their dedication but also the unwavering commitment to excellence displayed throughout our armed forces. These brave men and women ensure that our nation remains protected with state-of-the-art equipment like these formidable light guns.
